Loughborough MP asks for views on mental health services

Local MP Nicky Morgan is launching a survey to gauge residents’ views of mental health services in the Loughborough area. Nicky is encouraging service users as well as their carers and families to take part in the survey which aims to find out what works well locally and what needs improving.

This is the second time Nicky has asked for residents’ views on mental health services, the first being in 2013 when she launched her first survey in which many local people responded. Now, four years later, Nicky wants to see what the current situation is.

Speaking on the launch of the survey, Nicky said:

“The responses I received to my 2013 survey were incredibly valuable and they helped to shape discussions I had with providers of mental health services locally. They also helped me to understand which services worked well and also identified areas that needed improvement.

“Since then, there have been a number of changes to services locally and I want to know if things have improved and I want to hear what residents’ views are. The results will help me in the next four years and will help shape the debate on mental health services in the future.”

The survey was officially launched at the Loughborough Wellbeing Project Café when volunteers and clients were joined by comedienne and mental health campaigner, Ruby Wax before her show later in the evening at Loughborough Town Hall

It is also available in printed format at Nicky’s constituency office at 18 Pinfold Gate, Loughborough, LE11 1BE.
