Gave my support to the Homelessness Reduction Bill – it is unacceptable that, in a civilised society, people should be faced with the fear of homelessness.

Attended a drop-in event about adoption – this week was National Adoption Week, which was marked by a national campaign to #SupportAdoption with activities across local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies to help find families for some of our most vulnerable children.

Left the Government – following David Cameron’s resignation and Theresa May becoming Prime Minster, a Ministerial reshuffle occurred and the new Prime Minister asked me to leave the Government.

Attended the Prime Minister’s statement on the EU Referendum – in our 2015 Manifesto, we made a commitment to have an in/out referendum to let the British people decide the future of our EU membership. On 23rd June, we delivered on that commitment and the outcome of this momentous vote will change the course of our country for generations to come. In his statement, the Prime Minister updated MPs on the new EU unit which will bring together officials and policy experts from across the Government to advise on transitional issues and objectively explore options for our future relationship with Europe and the rest of the world from outside the EU.
